Paolini is the No. 1 New York Times–bestselling author of the Inheritance Cycle, anchored by Eragon, the novel he wrote and self-published as a teenager—a copy of which Carl Hiaasen picked up on vacation in Montana and forwarded to his editors at Random House Children’s Books.
